Are you looking for a process based on a significant body of research?

The ATPI (Affina Team Performance Inventory) assessment gives powerful data to demonstrate to a team where are its strengths and where it can improve.  It is based on a significant body of research led by Michael West and others.

So how does it work?

All members of the team are asked to complete a questionnaire which takes about 15 minutes to complete online.  The responses are confidential and the resulting report shows how the team is performing in comparison to similar teams across other organisations.  It also shows the level of agreement between team members.

What does it measure?

The assessment measures team inputs, processes and outputs compared to the comparison group.  It shows whether the team is performing in a similar way to others in the comparison group, or how much above or below the average it is. The process of reviewing the ATPI feedback report with the team provides a solid basis from which to build improvement.

How do we support the assessment / How does it improve performance?

We will

  • work with the OD department and team leaders to determine the most appropriate assessment to help the team to improve performance.
  • explain the process to team members
  • set up the ATPI and encourage team members to complete the questionnaire
  • discuss the resulting report with team leaders
  • support team leaders in the presentation of the results to team members

Outcomes – Improving team performance

This process enables teams to challenge themselves to identify and own their development needs. This genuine engagement from the start of the process becomes a vital first step in the overall improvement of team performance.
