…Congratulations on being shortlisted for the next stage in the Consultant Assessment Process. This page is designed to give you a little bit more information and answer any questions you may have on the next stage of the process.
Let Me Introduce You
My name is Sarah, and I am a Psychologist who will be working with you through this process. I have been working with consultant candidates for Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS FT for many years, and I also have a background in the NHS myself.

- Book yourself into my diary for the final part of the assessment process (the Verfication / Fedback Interview) using the calendar below before the date highlighted in my personal email to you.

Introduction to the process
As part of the Consultant selection process for Moorfields Eye Hospital NHSFT you are asked to complete the SHL OPQ32 personality questionnaire on line prior to the final interview.
The OPQ32 is a validated psychometric measure that explores your preferred way of working. That does not mean that you can not or do not do things in other ways, but gives us an indication of your behavioural style and its likely impact on your performance in the role.
Your answers to the questionnaire are compared to a norm group of professionals across public, private and voluntary sectors.
The outputs from the questionnaire
The output from the questionnaire is a profile that I will discuss with you by telephone prior to your final interview. The telephone conversation / feedback interview will give us the opportunity to discuss how the behaviours are manifest in your everyday work or for you to put an opposing view to that seen in the profile if that is the case.
The feedback interview usually takes approximately 45 minutes.
You will be sent an on-line invitation
I will arrange for you to receive an email from SHL giving the information to access the questionnaire.
If you do not receive it by the end of the day today, please just check your ‘junk’ email and call me if it’s not there either.
I would be grateful if you would complete the questionnaire as soon as possible or at the very latest by the date on the email invitation from SHL.
The profile and feedback interview are combined...
We use information from the questionnaire and the feedback interview to write a confidential report for the selection panel giving further information about your likely style in relating to others, your thinking style and your feelings and emotions about work.
This gives the panel members further information to explore at interview.
